Varanus gouldii is a large ground monitor that can grow up to 160 cm long. It is fairly widespread in most of Western Australia, with the exception of the hilly interior of Kimberley.

 

It steals eggs of our chickens. It also preys on small chickens and young rabbits.

 

If an individual becomes too much of a problem around our orchard, we dislocate it to the NW corner of our property.
