Our Does
"Sophie" (D149), like "Jenny", is one of our first dairy goats. We received her in January 2009, and have been milking
from July 2010 to December 2020. She was one of our best milking does (6.5 liters per day during peak lactation). She was around
90% Saanen, with some mottled Anglo-Nubian genes mixed into it (see, for example, her daughter "Hannah", below).
"Sophie's" genetics is special in that she is polled (genetically hornless, we DO NOT dehorn our goats!). The polled gene is
dominant. This means that, on average, 50% of the offspring of a polled and a horned parent will be polled.
