Our first dairy goats were pure-bred Saanens. Later we purchased Anglo-Nubian and British-Alpine bucks. As a result, many of our goats are now cross-breds. By cross-breeding we try to get a combination of the best traits of the different breeds. We also find that cross-breds, in general, are more hardy and lower-maintenance than pure-bred goats.
