Kidding mortality includes all kids that were born dead, or died within the first week of their life. It was 4.6%. The Figure shows the mortality rate for the different causes of death.

Several factors could be identified as risk factors

Male kids had a higher mortality rate than female kids
Mortality rate increased with litter size
Mortality rate decreased with birth weight. Mortality rate of kids with less than 2 kg birth weight was particularly high
Mortality rate was also correlated with the condition of the dam with kids from dams in poor condition having a higher mortality rate.
